Cost of waiting
A little more each year.
A lot more over time.
Try your own monthly bill. Growth rates are scenarios you can compare, not predictions, and your utility may change differently. This is not an Eden price or a savings guarantee.
Starting with a $200 example. Change it to match your bill.
- Today's bill, held flat
- $200/mo
- $24,000 over 10 years
- Year 10 at 5% growth
- $310/mo
- $30,187 over 10 years
- Difference in cumulative utility spending
- $6,187
Illustrative assumptions: year 1 equals your bill; each later year is the bill times (1 + growth) to the power of the year minus 1; 12 payments per year at constant usage. No separate tax or fee adjustments, incentives or solar system costs are modeled. Nothing here is saved or sent.
Why demand matters
AI runs on electricity.
So does your home.
From AI models to streaming and cloud services, data centers are asking more of our power system. Berkeley Lab's 2024 report puts the scale in perspective: a projected 6.7–12% of U.S. electricity by 2028. That's all data centers, not AI alone, and a projection—not a measured outcome.
Your bill isn't just about how much you use. Fuel prices, grid upgrades and local utility rules also shape what you pay. More demand doesn't guarantee a rate increase, but understanding your options is a good place to start.

- 4.4%
- of U.S. electricity used by data centers in 2023
- 6.7–12%
- projected share by 2028 in Berkeley Lab's 2024 report
- 176 TWh
- estimated electricity used by U.S. data centers in 2023
- 16.0¢ → 16.5¢
- average U.S. residential price per kWh, 2023 → 2024

Every reason people hesitate — and the honest answer behind each one. Spoiler: we walk you through the messy parts.
“It's too much debt.”
Not every project needs financing, and costs vary by home. We show your options and the real numbers before you commit to anything.
“Won't financing put a lien on my house?”
It depends on the option. Some involve filings on equipment or property. Ask for the paperwork up front; we explain what applies to your choice.
“Loan? Lease? I don't want to figure out financing.”
Fair. We lay the options side by side in plain language so you can compare them without a finance degree.
“Ugh, now I have to deal with insurance.”
We'll help you prepare the right questions for your insurer. Coverage and any premium changes depend on your policy and location—not a one-size-fits-all promise.

Questions
Good to know.
How much does solar cost for my home?
It depends on your home's location, energy use, and roof. Programs, utility rules, and available incentives vary by address and circumstances. A discovery call is the easiest way to explore your options.
Will solar really lower my electric bill?
Solar can reduce the electricity you buy from your utility. Savings depend on your roof, usage, plan, and local rates. Export credits or net metering may be available under your utility's rules, and fixed utility charges may still apply.
What happens during a power outage or severe weather?
Standard grid-connected solar shuts off during an outage for safety. A properly configured battery backup can keep selected essential circuits running, depending on battery capacity and your home's usage.
Do you handle permits and paperwork?
Eden is your point of contact for understanding design, permitting, utility interconnection, and inspections. We coordinate with the professionals handling your project and keep you informed throughout the process.
Is there really no pressure?
Correct. We explain your options and let you decide on your own timeline.
What warranties come with my system?
Warranty terms depend on the equipment and your installation partner. Ask about them on your discovery call.
